Challenges

  |   By

New for Shirehike 2021 are a set of 4 challenges to complete. For each challenge you complete you will gain a triangular challenge badge that goes around the main Shirehike badge. You may only complete each challenge once regardless of your Shirehike level. If you move up a Shirehike level you simply replace the main Shirehike badge in the middle with your new one.

NOTE: To recieve your Out Of County Challenge Badge you must log into your own Shirehike Account and visit this page once you believe the challenge has been completed. If you have completed enough qualifying walks the challenege will show as complete below. Whilst you can log qualifying walks as a group through another Shirehike account you must visit your own Shirehike account for the Out Of County Challenge check to process.

Routes

Below are the routes you can complete as part of Shirehike. Some routes have been submitted by our hill walking team or other members, other routes are provided by various County Councils and are freely available on their websites. The map links for these routes will take you to the relevent leaflet for the route on the couty council websites. You can use the search function below to narrow down the list of routes to areas you want to walk in. There are routes available across the Midlands from both Hereford & Worcester county as well as other surrounding counties that are taking part in Shirehike.

We welcome members to submit their own routes of between 3 and 10 miles, you should include a map and a description of sights you will see along the way. See the What is Shirehike page for information on submitting routes.

Check out the Evidence Upload Guide to see what evidence you will need to collect during your hike.
